Christmas was just around the corner, two days away to be exact and school was already out the day before. All around people are trying to squeeze in a few last minutes shopping arrangement. Louis was no exception, despite the fact that he had always loath the idea of shopping. Alas, after two years in a row worth of bad presents for his parents and sisters, he thought he ought to give a little break. After all, there was only so much tolerance they could afford before they decided to show their obvious disappointment for his inability to care about purchasing decent Christmas presents for everyone. So, even though he resented the fact that he had to shop, Louis forced himself out of bed at the wee hours in the morning and drag his body towards the Diagon Alley to see if there was anything decent he could get there. If he couldn’t find anything, well, he was sure that there was a large shopping center where the muggles gather every year to shop, he was sure he could find Victoire, Dominique and Mama a couple bottle of nice perfume and... Louis wasn’t even sure what to get for his father.
Not knowing exactly he would like to buy, Louis ended up wandering, every now and then he would stop in front of a shop to look at its content only to step away a few moment later. Diagon Alley was certainly packed with people; there were more late shoppers than Louis would have liked to see, not to mention street hawker and endless promotional charms flying across the streets.
ooc; this is rubbish, but... i've always been rubbish at starting threads... sorry.

Christmas was my favorite time of the year. All the decorations and joy that seemed to crop up. Even in the darkest of times the holidays were still full of love and time together with the ones who held your heart dear. It made me feel like there might be some sort of normalcy in my life, even when there couldn't be.
This morning I had called Mama and asked her if she wanted to go shopping. She and I usually had a weekly lunch but this week had been too busy to even think about stopping for food. So I had missed out on that. Wanting to make it up to her I had set aside a day to spend shopping with her. She and I both needed it.
Lately I had been so worried about the fact that I might be a werewolf that I could barely think. That damn Fenrir Greyback was really causing a problem for the Ministry. And my family. First my father now me. I pray that I come out like my father, with a few scars and possibly and affection for rare meat. Luckily, the scars were not on my face, so I could walk around without the stigma my father had to carry. But I was too afraid to really worry about that too much.
Mama and I walked the streets of Diagon Alley, crowded with familiar faces and other obscured by piles of gifts in their arms. I smiled and tried to stop thinking about my problems. Christmas and shopping were much more fun. "How is papa? I haven't seen him much as of late. Is he working long hours again?" We walked past a few shops, but nothing that drew in our attention. I could see through the windows all of the happy people buying gifts for their loved ones. I smiled to myself.
Ahead of us in the crowd a spotted a family mop of hair. I pushed through the crowd to stand behind Louis. I put a hand over his eyes and whispered creepily in to his ear. "Guess who?"

It was the season itself that made Fleur happy, the fact that she would soon be surrounded by family and loved ones only seemed to make that all the more special. Any time spent with her children was simply worth all the coins in the wizarding world. It was so rare to be able to get her three little ones together at one time. Even now she didn't know if Dom would be able to show up. She was dressed for the winter her hair piled up and clipped back with a silvery clip. Clad in a powder blue sweater and ankle length black skirt and ankle boots Her warm cloak was over her shoulders.
She was watching the city around them, the recent werewolf attacks always had the woman on edge. Still the blond wouldn't hesitate to be-spell anything that might cause harm to her children. She was much like her mother in law Molly Weasley in that. If you were messing with her baby you were in for a hurting. Bill was very much like that as well. More so with his temperament since the attack it sometimes made Bill more aggressive than even he would like to admit to being.
There was an affinity she had for Victorie, she very much like her she had gained elegance with out trying. She knew that her youngest was not happy, but there was little she could do for that. She wouldn't call her on it would not voice it because she wouldn't want to hurt her childrens feeling. Age had blunted her tongue a little bit, if only with her family she was still able to cut through a person who disturbed her with out a pause. If they could understand her and her french. Luckily, Bill had learned french better than she had learned english."Oui, your father has been working late hours." she told her with a sigh. "He is home to me every night, maybe you should stop by the cottage some time, mon petite." she whispered as she touched her daughter's hair. "You have all grown up so quickly, and even Dom is rarely home, the wild streak many of the Weasley's have.." she chuckled.
Than her oldest was moving through the gathered masses of people and she followed one hand rested on her purse. She laughed softly. "Well, that's two, now if we can nab the third this will be a lovely little reunion." her accent soft but affectionate. "Since I know your father is at work at zis hour I do non think we will be seeing him.sadly."

If there was one thing that Louis was horrible at, it had to be present shopping. He could never get it right. Year after year he would forget about it and then end up having to apologize profusely because of it or his parents would have to end up doing the shopping for him, which was always good since they were always better at guessing what everyone would want. It wasn’t that Louis didn’t care enough, but he was just that bad at buying things for people. He was always great at reading people, but when it came to giving them something, that was the one thing he could never really get right. It was one thing to guess what others were thinking at the moment and time and another when it came to guessing what they would like to have for their birthday or Christmas. Once, when he was eleven, he ended up giving Victoire a pair of horrible coloured socks that looked a whole lot like poop, it was no better the next year either. If Victoire had mind, she definitely hadn’t said it to his face. Getting presents for his mother and father was not easy either, but like Victoire, they seemed to understand Louis’ inability to shop for the right things. Dominique on the other hand, getting anything for her would be trickier.
Lost in his own thoughts as he tried to figure out the best gift that he could get for his family members, Louis didn’t realize that his eldest sister was creeping up on him, leaving him no chance to duck for cover as she put her hands around his eyes and forced him to guess. Still, amused by Victoire’s childish approach, Louis decided it wouldn’t hurt to play a little game, even when he heard his mother joining them. “Are you one of the girls that wrote to me last week?” Louis asked, pulling the best thoughtful tone he could muster. A little game wouldn’t hurt, it wasn’t like he was getting anywhere with his present shopping and running to his family while attempting to do so wasn’t going to help either.
ooc; shortage... sorry
