[glow=red,2,300]Quidditch Rules![/glow]
OK below is a link to some of the more basic rules from wikipedia, but keep in mind the most simple:
Only the Seeker is allowed to touch the snitch
Keepers protect the goals.
Beaters can aim at or protect anyone.
Stay within the pitch however you can rise as high as you like.
Official Quidditch rules from Wikipedia
We want to be fair here, and try to give everyone an equal shot at winning this. While we want your posts to be entertaining, they won't be determining if you win, it's all luck! We have a dice roll system in place. If you hit the reply button, you will see a button shaped like a die. You will make your post, and leave it open-ended, then click the die, then post your message. You won't know the results until you post.
Meaning, (chasers) you will post that you are trying to grab the quaffle, and at the end of your post, you will see if you have succeeded or not. If yes, then you will continue to post as aiming for the goal. It's up to the keepers die roll if you score or not, so yahh.
Keepers, It's your job to block. When the time comes roll your die at the end of your post and see if its a save or a miss.
Beaters, you will be protecting your teammates from bludgers, as well as aiming bludgers at the other team. to prevent them from scoring. The same system of success or failure applies to you.
Seekers, once the game is underway, after the first page or two the snitch will be released. We will announce when it has been released, and you will have to search for it, and cast your die.
We will have a commentator to voice the game and let everyone know what is happening between posts. While we want you to make your posts fun to read, the commentator is also responsible for determining if someone is injured and how severely. Commentators will have the authority of a referee or umpire of in the event of a dispute and their word is final. Their main job is to make the match more entertaining and fill in blanks, and make it more colorful.
This is a work in progress, so there will be adjustments as we go along, this is a test run so please participate as much as you can, and help us work out the kinks! We are all excited about this method and hope for everyone to have fun
Combination of die casts:
1 Play fails dramatically
2 Play fails badly
3 Play fails narrowly
4 Play succeeds barely
5 Play succeeds
6 Play succeeds dramatically
Sample Post:
Paul leaned forward, his wind whipping in his face. The force of the wind was blinding him and he had to squint to see. He flew downwards on sighting the quaffle, and reached for it....
Die rolled: 6
(Hopefully YOUR posts will be longer, this was just a sample)
(At this point the commentator would pipe in and comment on Paul failing to catch the quaffle, while everyone else continues playing)
