A thin two inch fog hung low in Diagon Alley, the night time air was thick and many witches walked around in cloaks that covered them from head to toe. Astoria walked down the long winding streets alone. It was around eight o'clock and Astoria had apperated to Diagon Alley to get a break from patrolling the empty corridors of hogwarts. The past hour she had been in the leaky cauldron, and had a few butter beers. Her long black cloak brushed against the cold stone floor and she ran a hand through her long brown hair. It was obvious she would have to apperate back to hogwarts to finish of marking the work the third years had been doing. For now though, she'd have a little walk to take her mind of school work.
Then she thought about the good old days, when she had loads of friends. The life with her sister and her closest friends. Then it accord to her that Pansy Parkinson still hated her, who did she marry? Was it that Nott? Probably. She sighed and looked at all the closed shops. It was obvious she'd have to go back but she really didn't want to go back just yet, it was way to early and she was starting to enjoy thinking about her past when she was young and full of energy.

Jamenson Gareth had been taking a nice stroll around Hogsmead this fine evening. He liked the fog even though it wasnt as thick as he would have liked. It provided basically no kind of cover for him whatsoever. Yet he still walked along the cobbled steps. His black and gold boots clicking along as he went, he wore a black suit with a blood red shirt underneath and a white dragonskin tie. He had his black cape that was embroiderd with purple stiching along the bottom draped over his right arm like normal and he stopped as he heard footsteps aproaching.
He watched, his hand traveling to his ivory wand that he kept in his belt. He was tensed and ready to attack if need be. With the werewolf epidemic and the attacks that had been going on lately one could not be to carefull. And he certainly was not about to be turned into one of those mangy little dogs if it was up to him.

There was a lot to think about and Astoria was going to think about a lesson plan, or what to do in her next potions lesson. Holding her head high she emerged from the fog to see a male figure standing quite tense and it seemed he had his hand on the wand in his belt. Cocking a eyebrow she looked at him and quickly identified him as someone who taught also in hogwarts. Stepping forward she smiled, "Ah, professor, I mean no harm." She stated, folding her arms in defense. It was hard to see people in the distance, but with all the werewolf attacks, who could blame him for reaching for his wand. Nevertheless, Astoria had her hand on her wand, just in case he did try anything, although she doubted he would, otherwise there would be trouble between him and the Malfoys.

Gareth tilted his head up slightly to the side as she stepped foward. It was that Malfoy woman. Head of Slytherin if he was correct. Slytherin was the only other house he like besides his own. It was always like a second house to him. Though he had the brains of a master wizard he had the heart of a Slytherin. He often showed compassion to that house even when he wouldn't his own. But then his house needed the strcitness. He would not let them falter in their reputation. It was his job to uphold the standerds of excellence he had established as well as those in his posistion behind him. Gareth slowly crossed his arms, his Ivory wand still in his hand, the gold handle glinting slightly under the little light of the stars. He let it lay lazily in his loose grasp though, deffintly not on the defense. He had a cold yet formal look on his face as he acknowledge on the other professor.
"I'm sure you don't.",he he said indiffrently. He never liked the Malfoy family. They were to inflated for the little they could do. What kind of family boasted such power when they had non where it matterd. Only the weak minded and the faint hearted bowed down to the likes of them. Either way he beared no ill will towards the Professor herself, just the family in general. He wasn't stupid enough to let a simple prejudice impair his judgement on another human being.

Sometimes people didn't get along with her, the reason being her last name was Malfoy. She was still the same women as she was when she was a Greengrass, her personality wouldn't change just because she married. Keeping her arms folded she observed the professor and he still remained to hold onto his wand, as if she would mean a threat to him. "Do I feel like a threat to you?" She questioned. How could she be a threat, seeing as she was a women and for all she knew he could of been a werewolf! Quickly Astoria tightened her ponytail before letting her arms hang by her side, the fog moving around her feet as she moved forward slightly.

Gareth snorted in spite of himself. A threat? As if. Not to offend her but really he didnt think anyone was a threat. He was the DADA teacher after all and not much scared him nor threatend him. He put the wand back in his belft and crossed him arms again.
"Not really.",he said with a cold shrug as he began to walk down the alley.
"Nothing seems to be a threat to me.",which was true enough. Sure he got scared sometimes just like any other professor but he was never threatend. He felt that being threatend by someone would only mean that they would have that much more power of you.
